Amanda Soden
Amanda is thrilled to be reading the role of Elsa in
The Road to Mecca, as she spent much of her childhood in
Southern Africa. Originally from Carpinteria, California,
Amanda moved to Portland in July of 2004 to work with
Sojourn
Theatre. Recent Portland shows include Witness Our Schools,
The Visit (Sojourn Theatre), Live at the Rose Garden!
(Insight Out
Theatre Collective), Divine (JAW West Festival), Desdemona, a Play
about a Handkerchief (Home Planet Productions), and The Love of the
Nightingale (
Theatre Vertigo) in which she played the lead role of Philomel.
Favorite past roles include Mary Morel in Blindness: The
Irresistible Light of Encounter with Ping Chong &
Company in New York, the Witch in Into The Woods,
and Natasha in Chekov's Three Sisters. Amanda is
looking forward to working with as many theatre companies
in Portland as possible!
