Chris Porter
Mr. Porter has theatre credits stretching back to his
portrayal of Bogey in Woody Allen’s Play It Again,
Sam for the Mark Allen Players.
He has participated in several MHRTC productions,
including A
Community Christmas Carol, Sunday
Night by the Philco, and
Inspecting Carol.
His most recent Portland appearances are as Major Metcalf in
The Mousetrap with
NW Classical Theatre, as Herr Mueller in
NW Children's Theatre's production of Frankenstein, as Baylor in
Sam Shepard’s A Lie of the Mind with
Theatre Vertigo, and as Esteban in
Miracle Theatres new translation of Lope de Vega’s Fuente Ovejuna.
Upcoming roles include Hans Bethe in In the Matter of J. Robert Oppenheimer,
and Father Willow and The Ghost Fancier in By the Bog of Cats for
CoHo Productions.
A random sampling of his past roles would include, in no
particular order: Claudius in Hamlet, Teddy in
Arsenic and Old Lace, Fluellen in Henry V, Dr.
Wally in Marvin's Room, Buckingham in Richard III,
The Chaplain in The Lady's Not For Burning, Feste in
Twelfth Night, and Mr. Smee in Peter Pan.
He is a founding member of the
Willamette
Radio Workshop and can be heard in various roles on
XM Radio
in
Dry Smoke and Whispers Holodio Theatre.
