David Loftus

David Loftus is a native Oregonian. David was first seen by the Readers Theatre audience in November 2005 as General Burgoyne in The Devil's Disciple. In 2005 he appeared in the Shakespeare-in-the-Parks production of As You Like It and Classic Greek Theatre’s production of Euripides’ Alcestis. He has sung with the Portland Symphonic Choir, is a co-founder of the Bridgetown Morris Men, and has recorded books for Oregon Public Broadcasting’s “Golden Hours.” He has done more than a dozen voices for Dry Smoke and Whispers, the sci-fi detective radio drama that airs on XM Satellite Radio, and appeared in Willamette Radio Workshop's productions of Hiro and Liling, The Hobbit, and The Confessions of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. He writes free-lance reviews for the Oregonian and for various Web sites, and is the author of three books of his own. Every month, usually on the first Monday, he reads literature aloud in a "Story Time for Grownups" at Grendel's Coffee House at East 8th and Burnside.
