Jacque Drew
Mt. Hood Repertory Theatre Company audiences will
recognize Jacque as the woman who brought life to Billie Dawn in
our recent production of
Born Yesterday, and from the company's staged readings of Crimes
of the Heart, Marvin's Room and Mt. Hood Radio Theatre.
Jacque has appeared on most of Portland's stages over the
last two decades, and has been seen performing in Alaska,
Massachusetts, California, Idaho, Hawaii and New Zealand. Some
of her favorite performances include: Roberta in Danny and the
Deep Blue Sea (thetheatrecycle, New Zealand); Rosannah in
Brilliant Traces (Toast Theatre, Alaska and Stark Raving Theatre,
Oregon); Shelly in Buried Child (Artists Repertory Theatre,
Oregon); Sylvia in Sylvia (Portland Center Stage,
Oregon); Kate in The Taming of the Shrew, Portia in The Merchant of Venice,
Emilia in Othello, Magaret of Anjou in Henry VI parts 1-3
(Tygres Heart Shakespeare Company, Oregon).
She created an award-winning educational program for Tygres
Heart Shakespeare Company, bringing the bard to communities all
over Oregon. She has also served as an international guest artist
at Toi Whakaari o Aotearoa: The New Zealand Drama School, and is
an active member of Portland's Haven Project,
mentoring young playwrites in the community.
Jacque is the honored recipient of the Portland Drama Critic's
Drammy Award for Best Supporting Actress and the New
Zealand Drama Critic's Chapman Tripp Award for Outstanding
Contribution to Theatre.
