Mary McDonald-Lewis
Mary McDonald-Lewis considers herself an itinerant
communicator. She makes her living primarily as a voice actor,
and she's worked in that field for the past twenty five years,
most of it in LA. But she is also a freelance writer, a print
and broadcast journalist, a university-level English and theatre
arts instructor, and most recently, helped found Readers Theatre
Repertory, a local staged reading company.
Voice acting is Mary's first professional love as an actor.
She's put her pipes to hundreds of radio and television
commercials, and hundreds of cartoon episodes, creating dozens
of characters for animated shows like GI Joe, Superfriends,
Batman, The Mask, and more. She worked locally on an animated
Claymation project for Will Vinton Studios,
and for years was the voice of KPTV, Oregon's 12.
Now she's the voice of OnStar,
General Motors' global navigation system, heard in millions of
cars.
She has directed numerous projects for Mt. Hood Repertory
Theatre Company in the past, including 2003's
Sunday Night By The Philco.
MaryMac is Oregon's National Board member for the Screen
Actors Guild, and holds her MFA in Theatre Arts from the
University of Portland.
She hopes to be an astronaut when she grows up.
