Rodolfo Ortega
Rodolfo Ortega has composed music and designed sound for
numerous theaters in Portland Oregon and across the region.
Rodolfo Ortega received his Bachelor's Degree in Music from the
University of
Arizona and his Master of Music degree from Manhattan School
of Music where he studied piano and composition. He has composed music
and designed sound for the recent productions of Artist
Repertory Theater's Take Me Out, A Midsummer Night's Dream,
Appalachian Ebeneezer, Blue/Orange, Proof, Art,
Two Sisters and a Piano and Top Dog Under Dog. He has composed
many of the production's at Miracle
Theater including the recent productions of Lorca in a Green Dress
and Dia De Los Muertos. For the Profile
Theater Company his credits include composing the music for Seascape,
The Ride Down Mount Morgan, The Homecoming, Ashes to Ashes,
The Birthday Party, American Dream and Zoo Story.
Additionally he has composed the music for True Confessions of Charlotte
Doyle, The Hobbit, Diary of Anne Frank, and Sleepy Hollow
for The Northwest Children's
Theater and Tuck Everlasting, BFG, Holes and Cyrano
for the Oregon Children's Theater.
For the 2000-2001 season Rodolfo was awarded the
Drammy in Sound Design and Composition for a season of outstanding work,
in the 2001-2002 season he was again awarded the Drammy for his compositions
for Tuck Everlasting in the 2004 - 2005 season he received the Drammy
for Composition for Lorca in a Green Dress.
